article_post_width_firefly_onlineToday at San Diego Comic Con, Fox Digital Entertainment revealed Firefly Online, a social online role-playing game based on Joss Whedon's cult sci-fi TV series Firefly.

The game is in development for IOS and Android phones and tablets and is targeted to be releasing in summer of 2014. Hopefully that is for initial release and they are not leaving any pc version out.

QMXi and Spark Plug Games are the developers for Firefly Online . In it, players take on the role of captain, recruit crew members for their ship, and take on missions, all while interacting and trading with other players. It also features customizable ships and cross-platform play.

According to CEO Andy Gore they know firsthand what the franchise’s power is. He went on to say It has always been our mission to bring the Verse to life for our customers in every way possible. The idea of creating an interactive experience where fans can have their own Firefly adventures -- well, that's just too shiny for words."

I attached the trailer for the game below if you want to know more info on it head on over to their website keepflying.com to sign up for more information.
