Sony Releases PlayStation 4 design and $399 price tag.

Written and Edited by Lynn Gerena ( Ashe Darkthorne )

So yeah schoolyard antics aside Sony Finally showed us the box and gave us a price tag.

Sony released the PlayStation 4 to a grand applause and set the price for the new hardware at $399. Which is $100 dollars less than Microsoft’s next-gen console.

You can already pre-order the machine from your retailer of choice. Some of the few accepting pre-orders are Amazon, GameStop, Walmart.

Sony came off  very well in their press conference saying everything that people wanted to hear. No system check-in’s, the PS4 will be “used games” friendly. Basically everything that people wanted Microsoft to discuss.

The system will not be available with the “PlayStation Eye” that is how they are keeping their cost down.

As for First party titles the PlayStation 4 had very small offerings just updates on the 6 games shown in February. They did have a strong third party line-up but nothing that jumped out on me.

I did like what I see and will purchase one later on but Day One I will be buying an Xbox One with more games I want to own and not just a few here and there.

  1. I'm on the other side of that fence. I'm not particularly blowing my excited wad over anything they showcased, but I wasn't thrilled with anything on the Xbox side either. Halo doesn't do it for me anymore. And Call of Duty with mechs and jumping from sign to sign isn't exciting to me either (I'm talking about Titanfall). I did find that Sony had a big push for indie devs. I like that. Also...there were a lot of new things that looked interesting.
