Gearbox Announces a Third Tier For Borderlands 2 and Level Cap

Oh Yeah and the NEW Character Krieg The Psycho Class comes to Borderlands as well.

2kgkriegpsychocharacterpax02jpg-e211d0At PAX East Gearbox Software has announced that there is a Vault Hunter DLC Pack as well as The Psycho character class. On a third announcement they also announced the fourth DLC Pack is scheduled for June release.

The Level Cap increase will release on April 2nd and will add 11 new levels and will bring the level cap to 61. There is also a new weapons tier to go along with the level pack. New Pearlescent weapons will now be the rarest loot in game.

Also on April 2nd with the level cap will be a new mode called Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Mode as a free update for all players. The mode will be available for anyone who has beaten True Vault Hunter’s Mode and reach level 50.

The sixth playable character release is Krieg the Psycho  and will be available for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. Krieg will be available in May.

Krieg is based on the Psycho enemies seen in the game and rewards players for high-risk behavior such as running into crowds. His action skill is Blood Axe Rampage, which allows him to regain health while attacking an enemy. His Skill Trees include Bloodlust, Mania and Hellborn.

Krieg is not included in the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.

The last thing they mentioned was the 4th DLC Pack which according to Gearbox is their biggest DLC ever made including the DLC for their first Borderlands. They did not give much info on it stating it was still early but they are hoping for a June release.

They teased it with a video of Tiny Tina playing some board game called Bunkers and Badasses. As she explains the game to the original hunters she continues to shout “Roll for Initiative!”  Trying to figure that one out.

Overall some pretty cool news coming from PAX EAST and Gearbox Studios.
