RUMOR: Next Xbox to be Always Online, No Secondhand Games, Blu-ray Discs, and a New Kinect

So Rumors are picking up heat as we get somewhat closer to release news. Today’s is a big one on the Next Xbox.

According to a new report the next Xbox will be always online which means it could eliminate secondhand sales, will use 50gb Blu-Ray discs and will have an updated Kinect.

Sources with 1st hand experience of Microsoft’s next-gen hardware gave info to Edge states that the next Xbox will be committed to online functionality. Games will still be available at retail and when they ship they will be on 50gb Blu-Ray discs that will include an activation code so no trade ins when you are done with your games.

Which is a BIG Mistake! Not only that if you have multiple consoles your significant other just can’t borrow your game so you need multiple copies in house just to play and share.

Anyway the sources also claimed that the rumored specs are pretty accurate. So if you remember the specs rumored were that the Xbox would contain a AMD eight-core x64 1.6GHz CPU, a D3D11.x800MHz graphics solution, and 8GB of DDR3 Ram. So it should be a beast of a machine.

As for the new Kinect  it is said to be more reliable and responsive which should make it a lot more fun. I hope it will be easier for developers to integrate into their games.

So now the final question is when will these rumors or info be shown first hand. Everyone is claiming for Sony to make their moves later this month so when will Microsoft announce their push?

I myself know that this will hurt Microsoft as for fans and also with retail outlets. The activation codes will not win over people and I am sure this will hurt most second hand stores that make a killing on pre-owned games.
