The Playstation 3 Loses Weight Again! Slimmer PS3!

Playstation-Network-Logo-psd42595Sony is going on it’s 3rd iteration of their popular gaming console.

The system is set to be available in a few weeks. This is not surprising to anyone who is familiar with Sony’s tactic when it pertained to the PlayStation 2.

That system had a long life and a new model way after the release of it’s newer next-gen sibling. Here is a little info from Sony’s Official Blog about the redesigned system.

“The new PS3 will be available in two different models, with 250GB and 500GB HDDs which will allow you to store even more of your digital life. It also features a smaller, streamlined design that will look great as part of any entertainment system. The new model is approximately 20% smaller and 25% lighter than the current PS3.”

Though there is no mentioned as with any remodel I am sure there will be no backward compatibility with older PlayStation 2 or PS1 titles.

A few more photos for you to gaze at. Compare sizes and inputs between the models.

So does this seem interesting to you? Do you know anyone who at this point is looking for a PlayStation 3?
