Nintendo Power is at an end, Xbox Live Dash beta re-opens

Some quickie stuff with some of the breaking news from yesterday. So let’s get on with all the fun stuff.fulgore_grande

e2c27e9cec6d9564bbb3de9c25bee618If you did not get in on the first go around, no worries Microsoft has re-opened the Dashboard Update for second round for 500,000 more participants according to a Engadget tipster.

Nintendo Power will be cut to an end

Nintendo-Power-Issue-1Nintendo is not renewing it’s licensing agreement with Future Publishing (the company currently produces the magazine) and has no intents on taking over the publishing itself, according to some insider sources who spoke with Ars Technica.

The info was also stated by Nintendo Power senior editor Chris Hoffman who put out a tweet that he and his staff will “try to make the last issues memorable”.

Sad to see a long running magazine especially gaming related go off to the winds. It reminds me of when GamePro had stopped publishing.

Nintendo Power launched in 1988 and was run in-house by Nintendo until the property was licensed in 2007 to Future.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception GOTY Edition releases in Europe.

uncharted3_goty-ps3-asAs I just purchased my copy of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception just this weekend through GameFly, Today the Game of the Year Edition gets a European released date of Sept. 19th.

There is no official word on a U.S release date yet, but it seems the European GOTY will feature a ton of DLC, including four skin packs, two different co-op multiplayer modes and six different maps. The odd thing added was a music video and additional vocals by Kimbra, a New Zealand singer/songwriter.

Prey 2 no longer listed on Bethesda site

Prey2Bethesda’s Website revamp was lacking a listing for delayed (but not canceled) Prey 2.

Reasoning for the omission from the site, “Since we had already announced it wasn’t coming out this year and we don’t have anything new to say on the game at this time, we simply didn’t think it’d be appropriate o include it on the new site relaunch,”  Bethesda VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines told IGN. “We chose to focus on the upcoming titles we are talking about.”

Sounds like we won’t get to be the intergalactic bounty hunter anytime soon. Some more digging in the story states that though the game is not canceled seems as though the Human Head developed project did not meet it’s “quality standards”.

Scott Pilgrim DLC delayed until the Fall

scott2Last week I mentioned that Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was getting some online multiplayer and a new character. well it was supposed to have released  but seems that is not the case.

Ubisoft didn’t offer a reason for the sudden delay but clarify the new release window. “The DLC for Scott Pilgrim will be releasing this fall,”a Ubisoft rep told Joystiq.

Dragon Age 3 survey basically confirms possible titles and content

928A BioWare forum user had posted onto the BioWare forums of all places that they took a survey about potential content in Dragon Age 3. The survey consisted of character art, a list of possible game titles and a synopsis of the player taking the role of “The Inquisitor,”  who’s investigating the magical plot to destroy the Chantry and create anarchy . The character will be able to be a rogue, warrior,or mage.

Though BioWare has never officially confirmed the game I am sure between this survey and their prior references and hiring's for Dragon Age 3 that the game will have more concrete information some where down the line concerning it’s development.
