Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite won't be seen till 2013

Yesterday both Bioshock Infinite and the Tomb Raider reboot were said to be delayed till 1st quarter 2013.

With all the games scheduled for release this holiday season. Things look to be a little swamped. With the news of both Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider both being pushed till 2013 it now gives us a little breathing room for other games. “Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game” head of studio Darrell Gallagher at Crystal Dynamics said in a statement revealing the delay today. “In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013.”  With that announcement of the delay it gives the company chance to polish what Gallagher claims is “the best game of our careers” as well as “polish it to a level that you deserve.” However, Tomb Raider will still be previewed at E3 2012 in a few weeks time. According to Crystal Dynamics

As for Irrational Games delaying Bioshock Infinite, seems that it will possibly be on account of multiplayer aspects of the game. Irrational Games guru Ken Levine went on to say about the delay: "We've uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary."  This comes after a post on their site looking for Network Programmer for someone to work on the network aspects for Bioshock Infinite.  I must say that for both games I am glad they don't feel the need to push their creations and really give them the polish they want to put out excellent work.

Irrational Games already has a great looking game and if the posting is true and they want to make a very fun and dedicated MP aspect then more power to them. Where Crystal Dynamics I believe it would make sense for them to push back and not only polish  their game which looked amazing on last year's demo at E3 but also Tomb Raider is a game that should not be buried by other top tier games during the holidays. Most people are a little thrown off of the franchise and now more so when we have games like Uncharted.

What do you all think of the delays. Are these valid reasons or are you wishing they would come out when first announced?
